Where the numbers come from
Resolution figures come from the standards that define them, such as the ITU broadcast recommendations, or from manufacturers' own spec pages. Platform image and video sizes come from each platform's own help, developer or ads pages, and the social media sizes guide shows the date we last checked them.
How guides are written
We use AI tools to help research and draft guides. A guide is published only after each figure and claim has been checked against a source linked on the page; anything we cannot confirm is cut. We do not invent test results, user reviews or expert quotes.
How tools are checked
The formulas behind the calculators live in one small module with unit tests for known answers, for example 1920 × 1080 reducing to 16:9 and 8.5 × 11 inches at 300 DPI giving 2550 × 3300 pixels.
Independence
No company pays for a mention. If we ever add sponsorship or advertising, it will be marked clearly and kept away from the tools' results.
Corrections
Platforms change their recommended sizes without notice. If you see a figure that no longer matches the official page, email editorial@aspectratiocalculatorpro.com with the link. We re-check the source, fix the page and update its date.
